MINUTES OF THE ANNUAL MEETING OF HOLME LACY PARISH HELD AT 7.30 PM, TUESDAY, 31 MAY 2016, IN THE VILLAGE HALL, HOLME LACY

PRESENT: Mr M. Edwards (in the chair), Mr Trevor Williams, Parish Councillor and Councillor
David Summers, Herefordshire Council

APOLOGIES: Mr Bishop and Mr Hince.

MINUTES OF THE LAST MEETING

The minutes of the Annual Parish Meeting of 28 May 2015 were read, agreed as a correct record and signed by the Chairman.

MATTERS ARISING: None

CHAIRMAN’S REPORT

Mrs Christina Harris had resigned from the Parish Council. She would be sorely missed. She had served on the Parish Council, the Village Hall Committee and the Playing Field Committee for many years and worked tirelessly for the community.

The Chairman reported that it had again been a busy year with work to improve the village hall and to sort out the problems on the causeway. Agreed that the Parish Council should write on a regular basis about its request for a speed limit on the causeway.

CHARITIES REPORT

Honourable Jane Scudamore Charity (formerly Scudamore Holme Lacy Charity)
The Viscountess Scudamore Charity had been amalgamated with the Honourable
Jane Scudamore Charity

This charity was for the benefit of men and women over 60 years old living in Holme Lacy or elsewhere, mainly Bolstone or Ballingham. The Trustees would be pleased to hear of anyone needing assistance. There were six Trustees. This was a small charity with a yearly income of £153.

Prynce’s Holme Lacy Charity

This charity was for the benefit of people, of any age, living in the parish of Holme Lacy. There were six Trustees. The Charity was always glad to hear of anyone who needed assistance. The Charity had sold the property owned by the Charity several years ago and the monies were invested. Trustees met twice a year.

Mr Williams and Mr Bishop were trustees. The fund was doing well and grants had been made to a number of parishioners.

HOLME LACY VILLAGE HALL REPORT

A fire risk assessment had been carried out and a lot of work carried out to bring the hall up to standard. The Committee wanted to upgrade the heating and replace the floor.

NEIGHBOURHOOD PLANNING

Still in hand.

COMMUNITY POLICING

Visible by its absence. Councillor Summers to email Emma Freer about speed enforcement in the village.

CAUSEWAY

Councillor Summers and the Parish Council would continue to push for the causeway to be made safer.

ANY OTHER BUSINESS

There being no other business the meeting was closed.
